Jim's father and grandfather were both builders in South Central South Dakota, so he understood that reputation is everything. To get started, Scull Construction primarily did government work, since those projects are awarded to the lowest bidder. These jobs gave the young company a chance to gain experience and build credibility.

Today, we are one of the largest general contractor in Western South Dakota. With a team of more than 125 skilled workers in the field, supported by an office staff of thirteen, including three engineers, J. Scull Construction is a complete general construction contractor with construction management, design/build, and bid-build services. Large or small, we can take your project from concept to completion.

The same principles have always guided this company: quality, value, responsibility, and integrity.

QUALITY

With multiple layers of inspection, we strive to ensure the quality your project deserves. Our full-time quality control manager has received training to work with on-site personnel in all trades. He makes regular visits to the site to complete inspections, assuring that the work product of all disciplines is of high quality and meets specification standards.

The site superintendent supervises daily work, with the project manager on site at least weekly to work out challenges and inspect completed work.

President Jim Scull or Vice-President Dan Wegner regularly visits projects to keep in touch with customers and employees and offer their expertise.

VALUE

At Scull Construction, we take great pride in completing very high quality projects within budgetary and design requirements presented. We do this by creating a team, and promoting partnering between the Owner, Architect, Engineers, and Contractors to create the maximum value for dollars spent.
